It’s worth a little investigating before you buy any of their products. After a little research, you may decide not to support them.

Are denture tablets better than those citric cleaners you can dunk these in? I've seen them used for cleaning build up on rice cookers.

I'm on my second Zoji (first one grew legs and disappeared). Keeps my coffee hot ALL DAY, and I love the locking flip top because I can throw it in my bag without having to worry about spills. So much better than a Yeti.

They have great hot water dispensers too. Way better than the electric kettles since it keeps the water at a temperature indefinitely. Great for tea and instant noodles in my case, but I'm sure there are a lot of other uses for it.

If you are on a budget, I highly recommend the Xiaomi 20000 mAh power bank. It is a lot cheaper than Anker products and it works like a dream. It supports fast charging, and itself charges really fast. I have been using mine for around 2 years ( I never plug my phone directly to a wall socket) and despite that heavy use there hasn't been any change in performance.

I am too! In the '80s I bought a Sunbeam deep fryer from the '60s and had it re-wired & it's still going strong.

My Sunbeam Mixmaster from the '70s is still running great too. We discard things too readily.

Thank you for this. Growing up in Japan we always had zojirushi (100 year old company) and tiger mahobins (thermoses) to carry our tea hot or cold. This has always been a thing here. It's funny seeing all these new brands emerge even in Japan with so much hype behind them when the OG brands seem to be the best! The power of marketing!

I have bought the iMuto brand in 27000 mAh version. It is a beast, and gives many phone charges. I used it on several trips and it is surprisingly handy for home use as well

We have one of these, or similar model at least. They retain the heat amazingly well, but the lids break. We had one lid break in under 12 months, and on an another a few years ago the lid also broke.

If getting replacement parts were easier I might still consider buying again (in Australia)

The newer models (past years) are definitely not buy it for life. I was under the impression they were the best of the best for many years until I started working in logistics for a furniture store also selling kitchen aids. Working together close with customer service I was not only totally shocked about the amount of returns due to motor failures, broken pieces and even scratched paint right out of the box but also about their own terrible customer and repair services … awful. Took weeks to get them back and they have even mixed up machines, meaning the customer got back a different machine than we send in. Very disappointed and I personally wouldn‘t buy a new one.

I don’t think they have stores when I am, budget isn’t break the bank but around 250 max. But for that they would have to be pretty amazing.

Thank you everyone, I’m going through all of this and seeing what is a viable solution. Some I can’t get hold off. I’ll post the decision before buying in case I’ve missed anything. What makes if hard is most shops don’t carry everything and so trying them on mean online order and returns etc.

They totally should do Wh instead of meaningless mAh. A big part of Anker’s problem is they use cylinder batteries like 18650s hence the poor density.

I am also a bit afraid that the McMurdo is far too warm for our rather mild German winters. It gets barely below -5 centigrade, -10 is already an exception where I life.

I also had the impression that the McMurdo has a very good quality. I often read the opossite online but it felt very high-grade with a lot of functions.

Sadly I had to send it back as Medium was far too big even though I usually wear Large on jackets. Currently waiting on a Small one and then deciding if I will keep it :)

looks like Nitecore is using lithium phosphate while anker is still using lithium ion to keep costs down. is tradeoff. I wonder if anker will start making more lifepo4 batts soon

Used Herman Millers are such a great deal but honestly, I feel like Aerons are slightly overrated compared to their other styles (and thus also prized higher on craigslist and fb marketplace). I currently use a Mirra (fully loaded from marketplace at $100) and a Sayl before that (total lucky find on the street), both are great.
