Aren't surge protectors basically just an inline fuse? How would they lose protection over time? If they protect against the surge the fuse would overload and fail and the surge protector would seize to work, or am I misunderstanding how these work?

I’ve had mine going on 7 years now. Have no complaints about its ability to retain heat.

I think my favorite thing about it though would be the drinking mechanism. No fuss. Easy to clean. Can sip or chug. Works while sitting in the car or going on a walk. Can toss it around without having to worry about it spilling.

My Zojirushi coffee thermos keeps my coffee so hot for so long it can still be too hot to drink in the afternoon. I have several other travel mug brands, including Yeti, the only thing that comes close is my Fellow Carter mug.

I live in nyc so "asking the locals" isn't really an option. there's basically no mom and pops unless i go to NJ or Queens/BK. i'll wander some industrial areas see what i can find 😅

The only thing I like is the magnetic slide lid which is easy to clean. And the fact that they are dishwasher safe. I rarely use mine.

Had an insulated water bottle by them that I threw out because I couldn't unscrew the mouthpiece apart from the lid due to crappy design.

Nah, the best used appliance stores here don't advertise and are deep in the back of some sketchy industrial area, hence the recommendation to ask your locals. Might be something you've missed and might not have an obvious name. One of my favourites is just an initial and their last name so it doesn't come up on searches right away.

These are amazing! Bought one for my partner about 8 years ago, still going strong. He bought me one 4 years ago, and then I found what seems like a barely used one at a thrift store a few months ago. I don’t know why someone would give one of these up. I like to pour the contents into a mug throughout the day, since once out of the thermos it can finally cool down to a drinkable temperature.

I liked Yeti when they made it in America but now no reason to buy as not local.

I make my morning k-cup coffee straight into a yeti and then leave the lid off for 10ish minutes just so I can drink it on the way to work.
