Can you share the brands you bought? Especially the dry erase marker. I go through a ton of those.

I switched to thermos over contigo for the daily drinking coffee. Holds heat maybe 30-50 percent longer than contigno and way easier to clean lid system.

I mean tell that to every professional kitchen that uses and abuses KitchenAids daily.

The yeti's test no better than any other insulated tumbler with a shit lid.

That said, insulated tumblers with shit lids are my favorite drink containers for at home now since all the parts are easy to clean and they keep stuff cold long enough.

I now use a Thermos brand travel mug for my daily coffee as it has a better lid system. Its a good improvement on heat retention compared to contigo but not near the 6 hours and still boiling hot that zori is.

Zori is my tumbler of choice for taking to work for my second\third coffee.

I used my zojirushi rice cooker to keep my mashed potatoes hot for thanksgiving dinner.

If zojirushi makes a product, there is a very, very good chance it is quite literally the best product of whatever it is if you want it to do exactly what it is described as.

These insulated cups? Nothing insulates better, but people are not lying that after 6 hours its like you just poured the coffee into it so its still too hot to drink.

Their rice cookers are the best, period.

The Yeti lid compared to the Zori is a joke, like a literal joke.

The zori lids are several inches thick

The zori also has a significantly smaller amount of surface area on the top that is able to lose heat.

I've spent too much time trying to figure out the perfect and best tumblers\insulated containers.

The old school stanley\thrermos's are also the same with the tapered top but zori took it farther since with "only 160oz" you can easily make the cup a bit taller, bit harder to make a 30oz one even taller.

My zori big container (1L) holds hot water for significantly less time even if i keep the lid closed the entire time compared to my normal one but the lids are both just as absurd. However the 1L is much much wider.

If you close the lid on them, at 6 hours its still hot hot. I had to buy cheaper\crappier ones so i can actually use them at home or drink them on the way\shortly after getting to work without having to leave the lid off forever before hand.

The zuri has a smaller opening and a smaller top surface area as well as its taller and not as wide.

I assume all of that plays apart with why zuri is BY FAR the best at retaining heat. The heat basically only escapes from the top and zuri has the least amount of liquid exposed. Also their lids are way more robust and thicker than everything else.

My Zuri I can put tea in it at about 4:45am and at 5:30-6pm its still very nice to drink.

I had to buy worse ones if i wanted to drink them on the way to work or around the house because even leaving the lid open wasn't good enough to have them cool off fast enough to a drinkable temp.

Surge protectors are not BiFL, They lose their ability to protect from power surges over time. You should replace them every couple of years.

thats the part i cant deal with. i know me and my bifl purchases have to be more than reasonable to upkeep. i just got a stanley thermos because the top is easy to clean (internals twist out in 1 unit) and it turns out the thermos part is pretty decent too.

I bought one for my wife years so and she still occasionally burns her mouth taking a sip from that morning's coffee. It was a great investment. Very easy to clean, too.

I sold my awesome Bosch frontloader on Craigslist. Would have loved to keep it but was moving to a house that already had a stacked Whirlpool set. Still wish I could have kept my Bosch. The people who bought it got a great deal… only tricky part was transport.
