Any tips to breaking them in? I have a pair and they just aren’t comfortable.

Yes, this would qualify. I don't see US resellers though for replacement filters.

Olukai’s are great for a standard flip flop. I also have a pair of slippers from them that are super comfortable. Birkenstocks are my everyday sandals. It does take a couple weeks to get molded to your footbed, but then they are great. As for outdoor sandals, I’ve been wearing Tevas over 20 years (not the same pair), and love the adjustable fit. My husband prefers keens though.

Yeah, they claim independent testing, but also a filter that lasts 2600 gallons. Unlikely.

No NSF testing. This is the new Berkey it seems. I wonder if they are buying their black filters from New Millenium Concepts too. There are real tested units like the Doulton W9361122 out there. The doulton filters should fit Berkeys and Alexapure units.

Pro One do have some NSF tested/rated products, but no NSF 53 like OP requested.
https://info.nsf.org/Certified/DWTU/
You can drop the Product Standard down to NSF 53 and search. If the filter isn't in this database, it's not 3rd party tested and I wouldn't believe their claims.

The regular towels (idk about the bath sheet size) seem to go on sale with some regularity- maybe 2x a year. Incredibly inexpensive for the value. One of my favorite Costco purchases.

They actually look pretty impressive. Any idea if their cartridge can fit other similar-looking filter housings like the first 3 links in my main post? I'd love to use a transparent housing.

Good luck! We bought a used one to replace a front load whirlpool that got zapped by a power surge, and parts or even a new washer were impossible to get with supply chain shortages. Ended up buying the top load Speed Queen, it’s a touch louder but I was sold on being able to be rebuilt and a local service shop.

I have a pair of keen boots - leather - that have been with me for 8 winters in 3 states. They are the BEST and im so sad they don’t really make tall boots anymore

Thanks for sharing this. It makes a lot of sense to use certified filters instead. Excellent solution. Doulton filters appear to be NSF 42 and 53 certified, too!

I read that they tend to be pretty tough on clothes and contribute to faster wear and tear. Is that true?
