Chacos are the ONLY brand of summer sandals my kids grew out of instead of walking out of or destroying.

I also snagged what I believe was their “first full-shoe” design and they are going strong 6 years later. And they are so cool. Get compliments a LOT.

Runners up: my keens are always fantastic at standing up to years and years of wear.

We have same concerns about Berkey. Purchased one on Woot for half price several years ago when it was considered reputable. It does well making our tap water taste better but I wouldn’t trust them if I had serious concerns about my water safety. Since we have the Berkey housing, we have Doulton filters that fit it put back for a more serious water safety situation.

I might get grief for this, but Martha Stewart from Macy's. And I love her sheet sets even more...

ETA: I always make sure to dry them on LOW. It saves the elastics from scrunching up/look new much longer.

I second this. I got a belt from a street vendor in Santa Fe, NM 20 years ago and still looks like new. They made it in front of me and I got to pick different custom options that they made on the spot. It was quite expensive though at $300 with sterling silver and turqoise but hands down best belt I've ever owned, my primary belt as every other one I've tried has fallen apart quickly.

I found this vendor again last month and I was so happy as I'd been looking for another in a different color for decades. Inflation sticker shock though my same belt in black is now $700 ouch! going to have to save up.

Get a regular chair base. Or buy a $5 office chair on craiglist and throw away the top. Get car seat. Get sheet of plywood. Bolt the car seat to the plywood using the same mounting holes that were used in the car. Bolt the chair base to the plywood.

Use Washers. Use nylock nuts. Sand down any edges you dont like. It is truly an easy thing to do.

I'm a fan of Gfeller casemakers leather goods, including belts. They make leather goods primarily for field geologists, and if you've ever known a field geologist you know they need extremely durable goods.

It is pricey, but it's also a pretty small company.

Check out Mohinders. I got the woven and solid city slippers and love them both. And honestly if you check out huckberry.com all of their stuff is vetted and the company does an amazing job at making sure you're taken care of. I bought some dorm slippers from their website and the stitching started coming apart after a couple wears so I emailed them and they communicated with the company that makes them and had them repaired and reinforced for free, refunded the purchase in full, and also credited my huckberry account $30. So in total I got a free pair of reinforced $200 slippers and an extra $30 credit for my huckleberry account. Top notch company and I recommend buying from them. All of their stuff will last or you will be taken care of.

If you’re looking for a work type belt (not a dress belt) I love the shit out of the one I got from Duluth. It’s just a single strip of full grain leather. 4 years in with at least 3 years of daily use and still soft to the touch and no cracking or signs of drying out.

Haven’t found a decent dress belt though. Planning to try hanks as soon as my current belt wears all the way out
