I’m a big fan of Peak Design’s offerings. Lifetime warranty that is honoured.

Great variety of bags that are a little expensive but definitely well made.

Also, great accessories if they’re into photography.

It took me a long time to find a really deep desk for my PC but I foun dit years ago on Amazon. They don't sell it anymore, I do play to replace the top with a nice solid wood top and lower the height of the desk with a grinder and welder at some point as well. Most desks aren't very deep so it was always cramped with a couple of monitors and a big PC case, amp and speakers.

As much as I can. Recently made loads of things for a birthday party. A tulle table skirt: tulle is very cheap; table skirts are not. I made the birthday cake (£110 to buy) cost me about £10 in ingredients, and I printed my own cake toppers. I made the decorations, including paper flowers that were being sold on etsy for over £100! I had a lot of compliments. It's all gone into the loft for the next party, including the balloons, which I carefully untied.

As someone who does have a background in this - RO is actually the simplest solution given that reducing lead is one of your worries and you want something for a rental. In fact, I'd say RO for the last stage even if you owned and had a multimedia filter in front of it. There is a lot of bullshit snakeoil out there as you've already noticed. Yes, they will waste some water, but given your description I am assuming you are on city taps anyhow rather than a well. If you are on a well and/or catchment like I am, you will want additional coarse filters in front of it to remove particulates. For tap water, just a simple three stage RO unit will do plenty fine. If you are worried about the cost of filters, you can get the prefilters much cheaper from an agricultural supply. Same ones, just in a plain box. Cheaper if you buy multiples and they don't go bad. These are cheap and important to keep changing. If you notice your water flow rate drop - change even if it is not your scheduled time. This will prolong the life of the more expensive RO replacements and give you the best filtration results.

Tanner Goods makes indestructible belts in a lot of different widths to suit your use case (thinner for dressier/more formal stuff, wider for more casual)

Guarded Goods also makes bulletproof leather belts, also with dressier options, as well as a variety of custom/made-to-order options (he stocks a lot of leather). I remember this guy posting his very first wallets on a sub about 8-10 years ago and he grew his business into his full time gig. That's dope

I wore a similarly constructed veg tan leather belt from Corter for 5 or 6 years before I gained too much weight. Other than the patina and the belt forming to my waistline, there's effectively no wear on it and I still have it in a bag or drawer somewhere. I linked the shop page, but they've not made belts for a while.

I recently bought a belt from Ewing Dry Goods that I've been wearing with a recent denim purchase. These are handstitched vs. riveted, so I guess you could maybe possibly not have it FOR LIFE (I'd argue it could be restitched easily). But the stamp is cool and it's a one man operation - love supporting stuff like that.

Also have to mention Hollows Leather because I have always wanted something from him but not had the need at the right times to pick something up

My Birkenstocks have seriously been life changing for me. The other great thing is that just about any cobbler can fix/ re-sole them for you too! They are worth every penny.

I'm sure they're trash now, but I bought a leather belt from Old Navy in 2004 for my first job and it's still looking new. Daily worn. Got a wallet the same day and I'm still rockin' it!

The wallet astounds me the most. I wasn't military but did some federal police work for a bit on the border. ATV squad, brush work, and hunting drug smugglers. That wallet stayed in my uniform pants cargo pocket and I still use it today.

I have no idea where you are. I've worn my dad's belt that he wore in the brickyards every day for my thirty years at work. Outside that, the belts from the craft market by the old schools in Cambridge, England are excellent. I've also had two belts from steel toe studios in Seattle that are still almost as good as new and are only fifteen years young.

I second La-Z-Boy.

We have a leather reclining couch from them and it’s amazing. Great quality and high quality materials. We also have two La-Z-Boy recliners. One that’s 9 years old and another that is almost 25 years old (given to us by a friend). They’re a little noisy, but my god they are comfortable and bulletproof.
