Don’t listen to anyone telling you you can get a cheap Herman Miller or Steelcase off Facebook/CL without ridiculous timing and luck. That’s the worst kept secret on the internet.

My favorite is contigo. Order it online so you always have the receipt. With a receipt, they honor their lifetime warranty very readily.

Reply to Sling satchel computer bag by chic_retrograde
I have a camera/computer satchel by Ona Bags - the Brixton, which handles a Macbook Pro or basically any 14" laptop just fine (they say 13", but my new Asus G14 fits). I bought mine in 2013 and used it pretty much constantly; it's been around the world and seen plenty of abuse. There are two flaws in the canvas now; one on the back where it rubbed against my pocket knife's clip, and one where there's a seam that folds. Neither are functional issues and are barely noticeable. The strap and hardware have held up perfectly, and the waxed canvas has aged really well.
That said, my recommendation is for the full leather version for a BIFL bag. I may upgrade to that in the future, but it likely won't be because the current bag failed.
They have larger versions, too - the Astoria for up to 15", or you might be able to find the Union Street which is a discontinued model online or second hand. I wouldn't hestiate to buy one of these bags second hand as long as you get good pictures to make sure seams, buckles, etc. are all in good shape. They're proud of these things and the price reflects that, but considering mine has been going strong for a decade, I've spent like $35 a year on it.

HAG Capisco
I've been using a Steelcase Leap for over a decade, but I now wanted a chair that avoids any pressure on my scapulae.
The Capisco has been designed to allow a reverse sitting position as well (sitting with your chest on the backrest)

Couch. Thank.
That tells us zero.
Couches can seat 2 or 20. Be $200 or $200,000 (my break the bank differs from yours). Be holy shit yellow to printed middle fingers. Be leather to fabric. Mid century modern to art deco.

My hydroflask has been awesome. It was in my backpack when a car hit me doing 60mph, bounced across the street and still works haha. It’s got lots of dings and dents though. I’ve had it for like 5 years and find I replace the cap about every other year though.

Large scale art pieces. It’s not too hard to learn to make “abstract” art and I actually got better at it.
Clothing. I can’t afford some of the things I love and learning how to sew is a good skill no matter what. Being able to alter things a bit and add embroidery can change an entire piece. My favorite is a Chanel style suit I made myself. It took forever but it fits like a dream and I saved myself thousands of dollars.

Sama titanium frames are strong and lightweight. They are my oldest pair, going on 7 years, good as new, worn daily. I love the fine detailing, too. Very pricey, but in this case you get what you pay for.

I built my work bench the same way out from the studs in the wall. There is no other way to build a serious workbench IMO.

Costco membership pays for itself with one pair of glasses. They have a good selection of styles.

Westin Hotel sells their towels online. Two sets for each person in our home plus a dozen face cloths and two bath mats see a lot of wear and laundering. Two years in and they're like new. High loft. Super absorbent.

I make gun slings from nylon webbing because they are ridiculously overpriced for what they are. A pack of good quality adjusters and 100 yards of mil-spec webbing costs as much as two or three commercial slings, yet it makes multiple dozens.

No, I have additional issues with the bag, including ergonomics and size. Also some of the damage was user modification to allow the zipper to work

Yeah, IDK. I have had a sleeve against my back for a while without issue. I can see how that would be an issue, just has never happened to me. A lot of sleeves now have a buckle on top to further secure the backpack. But do what works. A working computer is better than hundreds down the drain.

It was a dakine backpack with the laptop sleeve right between the back and bag. I didn't think it provided enough cushion. Walking to and from places. Lots of bouncing against my back.
I put my laptop in a laptop sleeve and put it inside my bag. I just love how much padding the apecase has since it was made for camera glass.
edit: that was also back before solid state drives. SO maybe you wont have my problems.
