Timbuk2 makes great messengers and slings of all sizes and colors. Just go for an all black look and it’s timeless and functional. I love their bags but they when it comes to repair they don’t service wear and tear. But their bags are built great and all the ones I have have never ripped or broken, just the inner lining started to go bad after 15 years which was expected.

I had a 25 year old nalgene and the gasket failed on the lid. They sent me a new one. The lid also broke off on my nalgene I bought in college, they sent me the specific lid for that nalgene despite it being discontinued over 10 years ago. I believe they’re owned by fischer thermoscience now. They’re such an amazing brand.

I have had a Timbuk2 classic messenger bag for daily use since high school. 23 years of daily use and only had to replace a shoulder strap once. They have all sorts of bags for a litany of uses. The classic messenger bag isn't the best for the safety of a laptop, but you can either get a neoprene sleeve, or they have bags that are made for commuting and electronics.

Red Land Cotton towels are the bomb- not for everyone because they are not super fluffy, but they last a long time and are very absorbent and the perfect thickness. Plus they are made in the US. We won’t ever buy any other towels

The best towels are the old cotton ones. The ones that take a layer of skin off when you use them. There'll be some measurement about g/m^2 but you want a towel to be a mild rasp.

Benefit of Hydroflask is they are double walled so liquids stay hot/cold a long time.

I unfortunately have destroyed one. Accidently ran it over with a utility trailer. It didn't break, but it was dented too badly to use. I decided that was more my fault than theirs though.

I've had my replacement for six years and keep it off my truck bumper.

Most likely merino, but not all merino is created equally, many merino sweaters are going to be too thin and will pull because they’re just made the way that base layers are made, a thicker merino should be fine though, and a merino and regular wool combo is most durable but a bit scratchier

Today’s Corelle is a different formula then the old stuff we grew up with. It’s not AS shatterproof but it’s still an excellent choice. You can buy open stock white Vitrelle single dishes at WalMarts. After I got tired of some fancy square plates I had bought and never used I bought white Corelle and I’m very happy with it. They also having serving bowls and platters. For the price you can’t beat it.
