Came here just to say this. The cloudy white ones with the blue caps that look like actual labware and not a spinoff from a company that originally made labware, are functionally indestructible. If you think they're ugly, put some stickers on them. If you're worried about the health effects from drinking out of plastic, take a moment to think about what most if your food and water already is packaged in/flows through, and stop worrying.

Just made this purchase after researching intensely. Went with this the Osprey Nebula. It has a laptop section that can easily hold my large laptop, it can hold 2 drink containers. Possibly the best backpack I've ever owned. I also purchased a hanging clamp on so I can hang it up in a closet.

Zojirushi makes stainless steel water bottles within your budget. They should be basically indestructible.

If you can find a way to get Liberty Bottles shipped to the UK, they may also work for you. They make aluminum bottles that should be very strong.

I will explore domestic options for you and return to this comment.

Avoid backpacks with the laptop sleeve directly on your back. I’ve had two laptops die that way until I switched to a photography bag.

Apecase has been the perfect bag since 2012. All are under $200!

Depending on your laptop size, ACPRO1800, ACPRO1900, or ACPRO2000. I carry around a gaming laptop and it all fits almost perfectly snug.

The lens/camera interior is removable and adjustable. Really cool system. To do a quick swap. Haven’t even used it for photography in years because it’s perfect for travel.

Fits in airplanes perfectly.

If there’s rain, it has a water proof cover in a pocket at the bottom.

Plus they have a lifetime warranty on the site. Never called it in to check but my bags never had an issue and I’ve literally used it every day. Maybe I’ll make a post for the sun.

Coffee Roaster, I had been using a airpopper to roast coffee and got some friends excited enough to buy coffee from me. I started to get a small following and could not keep up with the airpopper and built myself after lots and lots of trial and error a fluid bed style roaster capable of roasting 7lbs of coffee in about 20 minutes. Its a great roaster and 10 years later I still use it a couple times a month. I only roast for myself and my office at the moment.

Best in my opinion would be a pair of redwing work boots. I would go with a “6 as they are better for working in tight areas.

I would also recommend getting his feet properly sized for the new boot as they can be rather pricy.

Being a Canadian sheet metal worker I found it was practical to have two pairs of boots one for summer and one for winter.

Hope this helps

I've had a chance to use the Aeron at a number of jobs in the past (I'm a programmer). When I went full remote I splurged and bought one for myself. It's literally fixed the back problems I used to have. Great warranty, very sturdy and repairable. Big fan here!

My hydroflask I’ve had since 2015. There’s so many dents on it I’m surprised it’s still holding up. I don’t use it as much now, but it’s still in rotation from time to time.

Nalgene is great and light weight. I cracked one once, dropped it full of water, and they replaced it for free. I just sent photos of the cracked bottle.

Yeti 64oz is a beast and is my current daily driver. I dislike the taste of water in the office so I bring water to work every day.

Other bottles I’ve had along the way zojirushi thermos- got it in 09 for mixing baby formula. Keeps hot things hot too well IMO. My parents use it now. Camelbak chute- both plastic and stainless steel. Works well, insulation is pretty minimal for the SS one. Quality on par with naglene for plastic version
