I’ve had very good luck with Kleen Kanteen. My almost-11 year old still has a bottle we bought her at age 2. It was her daily preschool and then school water bottle. It’s got some dents and scratched paint after 8-9 years, but it’s still in good working order. I think I had to replace the lid after she teethed on it way back when.

I built both a cold smoker and barbecue grill with hot smoker for my in-laws in the Philippines because I couldn't find either. Then I taught them how to make ham, bacon, smoked pork ribs, and so much more. I already had the knowledge and skills to build them. Figuring out what locally available woods were good for flavor required some trial and error. FYI - Jackfruit is a fantastic option, but is a pain to source and cut. Guava is much easier in both ways, and is only slightly less desirable for flavor. Then there is the husk of a coconut (don't use coconut tree wood). It has flavors that mix well with others, yet aren't good alone. It should only be about 10 to 15 percent of the mix, but it's extremely easy to find. That, redditors, is how I spent my covid lockdown time. It was well worth it.

Zenni frames have held up to daily abuse hunting, mountain biking, snowboarding, atv riding, homesteading and whatever else I throw at them. I’m finally replacing my glasses from several years ago only because I scratched the heck out of the lens cleaning with my shirt. I actually ordered the same exact frames I had before and was surprised they still had them. I get the transition lenses so these are my everyday sun glasses too. I even pay $3 to get my custom jay ban logo on them.

I used to work at an office design studio and I got the chance to buy a discount AllSteel Acuity about 10 years ago. I use it everyday and it's amazing. I work about 8 hours remote.

Its about $400 and its comparable to the Herman Millers and Steelcases but not as common. And after working with different office chairs brands selling their products, I saw that AllSteel had a better quality.

If you have the means, furniture is a good b(uild)fl. Drawers can be difficult but basic tables, desks, nightstands are easy. And you can make them to exact specifications and colors you need. It can get expensive depending on materials, but it should be solid for multiple lifetimes if cared for.

It's shocking to me how much Ikea type furniture is, and what it's made out of, but I guess that's more about convenience.

I've never owned a Merino hoodie, but from the research I've done the material is overrated and not very durable. It pills, gets holes, and stretches if you wear a backpack or strap on it (even the very expensive ones).
This may be all wools and not just merino, but they seem to definitely not be BIFL if worn regularly.

Herman Miller make damn fine chairs, had ours for 8 years. Once ruined a seat pad, you can just order a replacement in a massive range of colours and materials. Don’t regret a penny spent considering how long I’ve spent in the thing. Good now as the day it was new.

Must have phased it out by 13. One of my company’s vehicles is a 13 escape and it had a Microsoft interface that would fail to communicate with my phone at least half the time unless I did the pairing process from the start every time I started the car.

That’s true-most of the plastic WP frames don’t have nose pads. I did find some stick-on nose pads on Amazon. Those did work, as long as the glasses were cleaned and free of any oils prior to sticking them on. I also used a hair dryer to warm up the ends of the arms and made them hook down a little around my ears and that helped too.

Also going to take the optician’s advice and get them re-fitted. WP suggested I do that too.

My experience with Yeti products has been very positive. I prefer a tumbler to a bottle most of the time, but I've dropped mine a couple stories on multiple occasions without issue. Of course, the tumblers have plastic lids that can break if it lands top down. A bottle does have a plastic lid as well, but the construction is significantly more robust.

I've gone through a couple Nalgene bottles. Either melted them, broke the lid strap, or whacked them hard enough to crack. Plus they're uninsulated.
