Are you in America? Because she says "Based on the comments I am getting, it looks like the US is in the dark ages when it comes to induction and the rest of the world has mostly figured it out.".

Honestly I can put my pans anywhere and the heat spreads. Like the lodge, the handle gets freaking hot, the Mauviel gets super hot all the way up the sides. But its physics, any metal is going to spread heat if you leave it long enough. But if you are trying to cook instantly then solid copper is basically what you need.

Subaru recently changed up their 2023 forester to have a bigger display where a lot of the controls are via the touch screen. The Crosstrek appears to not have been updated yet, due to this I'd recommend the cross trek for an older person if they prefer buttons and the tactile touch of that!

Thanks for that info / opinion.

My kids are very involved in the process, so hoping that gadgetry will help overcome their reluctance

They've been handling sharp knives since 6-7 y.o. also cooking aline over an open campfire, so yes I trust them

I never liked how the food processor handled things like that. It’s better for when you want things chopped really small or blended. I use my 3 cup cuisinart chopper a lot for making sauces, pesto, baking related things. When I had a big one the only time I used it is for pastry dough and I actually prefer making it with a handheld pastry blender.

Chopping vegetables for that much soup shouldn’t take more than 20 minutes if you aren’t particularly fast. Taking out, assembling, using, disassembling, washing, and putting away the food processor is just as long.

Any Jeeps (wrangler or liberty) that aren’t meant for luxury and are older tend to have pretty simple dashboards without all the bells and whistles seen on most cars. Bonus that they are also 4WD so better handling for your grandparents in any bad weather.

The problem is un-even heating. I have never had this un-even heating issue until this (relatively affordable) induction range. The "burners" are too small! Like 6in across. This lady has the only video talking about it. She shows cooking various things, and how you can clearly see the hot-spot right smack in the middle of the pan. "Induction Stoves -- Watch Before You Buy One!" Helen Rennie youtube. time stamp 1:52

For some reason no manufacturers talk about it. It isn't on the spec sheet when shopping for ranges! The only thing we have to go on is price of the appliance <=sucks, no way to shop.

Again it’s to show your work. Unless you’re your own boss, someone should be reviewing the cash collection and making sure the totals are right. Often cash collections and even AR departments list and sum up the transactions received. You aren’t exporting your calculations from your phone. The next most common replacement is excel and the amount of people who will hard code totals rather than use a sum function will blow your mind. That’s why these are still used. I can see that you actually went through and added the figures up, and you can’t just hardcore a total that you think is correct/matches with these. It’s a check against mistakes.
