And you can add some white vinegar to make it effervescent. Used to scrub my sailboat with it.

Yes, and before you dump it all the way out add a few tablespoons of raw rice and shake the hell out of it. Rinse. Dishwasher soap works too…

I know half the recommended products here aren't available anymore and I'm about to do just that but: my uncle bought a Kirby from a door to door vacuum salesman and that thing survives to this day
You'll have to get bags and we had to put the belt back on a few times but it's a sturdy vacuum that gets good suctions and even has a motor to help push it

10inch Victorinox. Got it used as a gift in 2015. Moved all over world with it in the military. Took it to the middle east for 16months and everything. Solid kitchen knife.

Yes I’d say similar, but likely cheaper. Buy a big box at the pharmacy, use a bunch. I bet you’ll get it clean

I just use the ones from the denture isle at the pharmacy. Sometimes several, and hot water helps too. Good luck!

I will try leaving the tables overnight as I limited the time to about 30 mins previously.

Thanks, but I think this is similar to what I have tried and replied here to u/Old-Ranger1405 . The tablets from Sigg have good reviews, I used them repeatedly and no luck (I mean half of the bottom went off).

I fill an Aladdin Stanley quart stainless vacuum "thermos" every day for home use. After a few months a brown scum forms on the inside. I use a partial tablet of automatic dishwasher detergent and boiling water, fill, shake it up and let sit overnight and rinse with hot water (several times) in the morning. The coffee residue will come out as kind of a brown film. Looking down at the bottom under a strong light, you can see it is now shinny stainless. Good to go until next time.

Isn't it a bit similar to the tablets I have used? I haven't used vinegar though, only like 60-70C water and then brushing.

I never heard or thought of that 😁 Thanks for the tip, I will try it tomorrow, however, the coffee marks are really bound, because I tried hard.

You toss in a tablespoon of this stuff and pour in boiling water to your bottle and wait 30 minutes, then rinse.
There are some other brands of that same stuff too.

Maybe a simple carpet rake would be good to use to get up all the pet hair before using a vacuum cleaner. They have straight short nylon bristles and get everything that's not stuck to a rug or carpeting. Carpet rakes don't stop working and they're fast and lightweight. I've had mine since the 1980s.

Dexter Russel knives are made well, affordable, easy to sharpen, and are sanitary. Just don’t use a pull-through sharpener. Use a rod.

Just a thought about all the people recommending knives… I kinda feel that by definition, great knives aren’t BIFL. Great knives are made from soft steel that require constant sharpening, eg Global knives— love em, but if you use them and sharpen them every day (or two) they won’t last more than a couple years. There are plenty of durable knives that may be discussed as BIFL, but I haven’t used a “durable” knife that I’d want to be my main knife for life.
All that said, the $40-$50 Victorinox Fibrox chefs knives are great durable knives you can abuse without regret. Maybe not BIFL but so utilitarian and good for their value, they seem worthy of mention.
Also, if considering a mandolin, please consider a Miu. A lot of mandolins have ill conceived methods of attaching the horizontal blades that can impede the outfeed (area under the blade) which is really dumb. I’d steer people away from mandolins for safety reasons, but they’re great tools. Just dangerous… And often ill conceived.
