They’re comfortable enough once I have them on and have been very durable for me, but the process of putting them on makes me think DT doesn’t actually understand the shape of a human foot. It’s like they’re meant for people who have long narrow tubes for feet.

My in-laws (Filipino) have had that exact same one since they moved to Canada in the early 90s. It’s been through hell and back on so many family road trips and it’s still kicking.

Oster 4 slice stainless pop-up toaster, well built, has a wire clamp on each side of your toast that centers it for even browning and adjusts to accommodate widths from bagel to thin sandwich. Also has a button for "frozen" to do that just right without changing the "brown-ness" dial. It handles super thin slim sandwich bread with ease. Ours is probably 9 years old.

I have a Shun set and am happy with everything that came in it.
My favorite is the 6” utility knife I use the shears all the time Bread knife is amazing
I actually use the Chef’s knife the least nowadays even though that is all I was a line cook. I don’t do much heavy cooking since we had a kid but when I used to, it worked wonders for chopping.
When I was a line cook I used Forschner and Victorinox.
I’ve also liked using the Wustof knives.

As a farmer I spend a ton of time on my feet. Thorogood boots have for many years been my favorite. I probably oiled these for the last time today. I always have two pair so I can alternate, but they quit making my size so I guess I’ll have to move on. I didn’t take a photo of it but the stitching is giving way in a few places. The soles are only half wore out but I wear them mostly on soil.
These are maybe 10-12 years old, never done anything but clean them and oil them with saddle oil which is mostly lanolin and silicone. Same laces, worn all year around.
I hope I can find a company as good to replace them with. I need a narrow width, most companies don’t have them.

IMO top loads last longer (Speed Queen TC5 has less fancy bits and bobs to fail - more analog)
If you must get a front loader, Miele is the answer.

Interesting - never heard of this before.

Balmuda toaster. You pour water in the top and it cooks it with steam. You can literally use the stalest ass bread and it'll come out fluffy and fresh.

I have tshirts from LL Bean that are almost 15 years old. And a pair of flannel lined jeans. the tshirt fit is great, not too big like all the relaxed fit stuff these days!

First Lite. Hunting company. I've worn their Merino boxers for the last 5 years, no major complaints.

Oh wild I've never seen that. I have a Breville mini. It is a great toaster with one fatal flaw no review I read mentioned: the rack is in the exact middle, so unless your toast is 2 dimensional, the top toasts more than the bottom

I'm familiar with, and have owned, the high end German brands including Wusthoff and Henckel and I've got a Victorinox chef's knife now. Never had the Globals but they look cool. I'm going to suggest that you at least look at the Misen line. They're my current favorite and I have the large and small chef's (utility) knife and the paring knife. Excellent quality with a great ergonomic design and reasonably priced.
