Yeti Daytrips are very nice. They don’t have multiple compartments, but she could use small containers to hold her food inside.

Igloo playmate coolers are my go to. Super durable. Lots of fun colors and designs available. US made to boot.

My wife needed a new cooler, the normal Walmart ones can barely hold a takeout container with ice pack let alone anything else. I purchased the Rctic Everyday Soft cooler for $49. It holds 2 takeout containers, ice pak, ziplock bag cut up apple, 2 water containers and still have room for salt, pepper and utensils. Size is only 8 x 10 x 11 inches.
They have other sizes, use link in my original posting.

I guess I mean office durable. Something for a 12 year old in a cool color and big enough for fruit and crackers.

Depends on what you mean by durable? Office durable or construction site durable. If the 1st. I just purchased an rctic for my wife. Lots of room.
If construction what are your other workmates using?

It's been a while since I had it done so I can't quite remember but I think around $30. Good shoe repair stores are hard to find where I live but I would personally rather the professionals do the job for me.

Years ago, I found a company online that sold the metal panel-style bed platforms used in almost every hotel room in the US. Most online companies sell only to hotels, but I was persistent and found one that would sell to consumers. I wanted to prevent my pets from venturing underneath. They’re not cheap (over $100 US), but you can buy the height you want to the inch, they’re rock-solid, and they WILL last forever.

Looking to replace some old plastic food storage that I was given. Any recommendations on BIFL food storage?
Bought some Pyrex a while back but the lids aren't airtight and are beginning to warp/stain. Seems Snapware, while airtight, has the same lid issues.
I see mason jars mentioned a lot but the metal lids rust and the plastic lids warp. Plus their glass isn't microwave or oven safe like the Pyrex/Snapware.

No experience with tarva but I have the Stagstua bed, it’s incredibly sturdy and I have disassembled it 3 times to move and had no issues. It’s also pretty inexpensive. I also purchased the fyresdal daybed second hand and have had luck with it too. Just some other options if you decide against the Tarva.
I disagree with some of the blanket statement comments about quality. I’ve had a lot of ikea furniture for many years. If you buy the solid wood or metal, not the absolute cheapest options, and take care of it, it can last a long time.

My sunbeam lasted through my tossing and turning and regular use for years. It's stopped working now but even before then it would heat even part of the blanket.

I can’t imagine much of what IKEA sells is BIFL. I’ve definitely had some things last but not furniture

How much does it cost to get new soles? Do you replace them yourself?
ShortRound89 t1_j7q4w26 wrote
Ikea bed frames are garbage, you are better off screwing some 2 by 4s together your self if you want a cheap one that doesn't snap in half within 2 years.
If you have means to build one your self it's very simple and you can find plenty of easy designs from the internet, all you really need is a saw, some screws + screwdriver and wood.

I have one and don’t have issues with it being flimsy like someone else said. I’ve had it several years and really like it.

Order up! The makers say to, and all the advice says to, and I still ordered waist size (I buy pants in a 30 or 32" waist, and ordered a 32" belt, I think) and I can only get about three notches fatter before I run out of belt. Especially when it first arrived and was still stiff, I thought I'd have to order another one. If I were ordering again I'd order at least two sizes up. You can always punch another hole if you lose a lot of weight, but you can't add length! That said, after a few wears the belt relaxed into the shape of the buckle so I stopped sweating as much.
I got mine from River Ridge Leather in Ohio only about a year ago, but it definitely seems like something that'll last forever.

Yup. They are kids stickers. Though you’re right, bullet holes would have made for a better story.

Reply to Would you recommend an IKEA Tarva Bed Frame? by DryChipNoSalsa
I have had mine for about five years now. It has been totally fine. No noise that is notable to me. But I am also not expecting perfection out of a very reasonably priced frame. The only thing I didn't like was that it was so low to the ground. A set of risers took care of that quite well for me.
