A seiko presage is the way to go. If you want to bump your budget to 700, there is the fantastic Tissot PRX Automatic (I also own one). The Quartz version of the same watch if better value, at around 350, but there is something about automatic watches that feels more BIFL :)

I have restaurant supply store basic silverware that I love. Stainless steel and no frills. Holidays and family dinners we pull out the actual silverware that's older than me. It tarnishes, but we don't mind

I bought some old Gorham silverware from the 70s over several purchases on eBay. They have some cool patterns and are really solid feeling.

Are you hand washing and then letting them air dry? If so, spots will happen no matter what.

Check out Western Rise. Although you don’t need to hike in them, you could. They are great for casual, travel, and I wear mine to meetings (depends on your job of course). Super durable. I have diversion and evolution.

If you can, find someone who has one and ask them to let you taste the water from it. Not everyone (myself included) likes the taste.

I like Filson because they are rugged but look nice, lots of color selection, and they can be repaired.

I wear out the outside heels so fast. The rest of the shoe is fine or even great shape, but the outside heels is worn to the point I toss them. I started putting heel taps on anything I can get them on. Tricky and annoying to put on them sneakers, since they are hard plastic. I have chukkas that have miles, I mean miles, that are five years old and still look great. If you have this issue put taps on. That said I have thorogoods that have held up for years without taps. On sale redwings or higher end wolverines. Whites, oak street etc are all very pricey but well made. Good luck

I connected a Chromecast to an old receiver on like “phono” or “tape 2” and cast from my phone to it all the time. Maybe that’s an option.

Brookstone was the brand. I think it was a bb&b exclusive label or something
