Do you know of a slip on work boot, similar styling to Blundstone and RedBack that use the Goodyear Welt system?

Looks like plain weave linen, not cotton.

Although I’m sometimes working with machinery I opted for the soft toe version which I think is called the nevada, I’d definitely recommend soft toe if your just gardening as it’s comfier for constant crouching and whatnot. I’ve had cows standing on mine as well as extreme heat and they’re fine

Red Land Cotton has been a big disappointment for me. It is possible they are BIFL. I bought sheets and towels for my wife for Christmas. So it has only been a little over a month, and they’ve only been through the wash a few times.
The sheets are just “ok”. Not particularly heavy, not particularly thick, and definitely not soft. They are just ok. An ok product for a premium price. Would not buy again.
The towels feel like junk. I got the “bath sheets”. The size is big, as advertised. But they are very very thin. Not anything close to fluffy luxury. Thin enough you can see through them when you hold it up to the light. My Target towels with 8 plus years of washing are way better. Soft fluffy and absolutely nothing to be seem through them. 8 years of use and they’re better than brand new Red Land Cotton. Would not buy again

I would only get boots with a Goodyear welt. The fact that blundstones don't tells you something. They are not making their boots to last a lifetime, only to last the tread.

That particular one? unsure. I've been using my grandparent's model for many years to great success, but it was manufactured in 1948...

Reply to comment by bullshithistorian14 in Is this Revere Ware kettle BIFL? It looks brand new. by bullshithistorian14
I have one just like it. We've had it 20+ years and if I see another I'll buy it. I like the style, I like the heavy base and how it stays warm, I like the mech that opens the spout, I like the sound it makes. Best kettle every.

I have that kettle. It’s not as heavy duty as the older Revere Ware kettles, but my impression of it is that it will still last a lifetime of regular use.

Yeah gotcha, I remember when this sub was actually BIFL and didn't have that rule. Now its just the "this random product just happened to last more than 5 years" subreddit.

idk about the kettle specifically but my parents have been using revere ware for ages.

Got this item from my great-aunt as she can no longer use it (can’t pick it up) and I was telling her about my issues with finding a quality kettle that isn’t over $50. It’s been with her for as long as I can remember and I do recall her using it years ago (mostly to iron or clean) but I wanted to know if normal use would run it into the ground given it’s made in China?

Just a reminder that the most sustainable bags are the ones that have already been made rather than buying new ones. Lots of places will give these kinds of bags out, I got my primary bag at a hockey game years ago, and my secondary ones were gifts from my mothers job.
It’s the same principle that it’s better for the environment to drive your current vehicle rather than get a new one, even if the new one is a hybrid or electric.

The noise complaint is due to the fabric exterior, not the down itself. I suggest you go in person to a store and touch the comforters yourself so that you'll like its exterior cover. Also would suggest you check out some of the down alternative comforters, so of these have an exterior that may be more to your liking. If you're able I'd suggest checking out Costco/Sam's Club since you've all ready spent so much on one. Invite me to your yard sale when you find the one you like! Best wishes.

Old school home economist here, that appears to not be made of cotton but made of linen. Linen is made from the plant that grows flax. Yes it will feel heavier. To be certain it would need to be tested. Are there no tags on the sheet? I suggest you find a linen sheet and compare it. Best wishes to you.
