Good thing those experiments have already been done, and found no difference in outcomes.

Clearly not, when huge societies like China tightly control population growth.

"Humanity" has no goal. You could say as a species we have an evolutionary drive to propogate, but we ignore or overcome our evolutionary limitations all the time. And more importantly, not every member of that species feels that need to propogate. Homosexuality occurs in many different species. So why should they be held to an evolutionary standard that doesn't apply to them?

This is usually the opposite for me. Alcohol in particular tastes awful and I wish we would stop pretending it does taste good. One example however is nutritional yeast. I thought it was a hippy dippy cheese substitute, it is now a standard pizza topping for me. Does it taste like cheese? No. Does it taste really good anyway? Yes.

I've spent some time thinking about death, and I don't really know what to think of it. Most religions' concept of the afterlife makes no sense. The thing I am currently believing is that there probably isn't an afterlife (if there is, that would be great). I believe that the idea of people being at rest when they die is fairly accurate. The best analogy I can think of is that we have no memories or experiences from before we were born, it's probably the same after we die.
