The US is in recession, it was just denied it's existence by the Administration prior to the Midterms. Now that those are past, they'll go ahead and declare a recession since there's no voting for 2 years.

Scratchcards. Lottery cuttoff might be more than an hour in some places, but you could 'invest' in all the scratchcards at certain places until you find winners, reverting time back when you lose or even if you win to spend less the next time around.

If all networked communications went down for 24 hours, the world would go into chaos. Banks, stock markets, GPS, news media, social media, traffic lights. There is so much stuff that is directly connected to the internet, that I do believe people would loose their shit and begin rioting and looting.

That would be serious because there are a lot more things dependent on the internet. Traffic lights stop signs. Medical data in hospitals. It’s not just social media or video chat or gaming. It would be pretty serious because we have so much more dependent on it than we did on the last day 20 years or so

It would cause chaos... how many things are connected nowadays? Some cars won't even work (yes, they have trackers in them that stops them from working). Businesses, banks, hospitals, transport, sooo many things would be out for a day. Short time sure, but a lot can happen in a day.
