They are! Felt and styrofoam. I hope to try my hand at needle felting and see if I can remake them one day!

The houses themselves aren’t embroidered. They’re felt! Although my next project I’d like to give true 3d aerial embroidery a go. I believe there’s a few techniques to building up the terrain like layering a lot of embroidery floss or potentially using foam or something else that’s adhered to the fabric and then embroidered over. Excited to give a few of those a try!

I love the blurry effect , how long did it take to paint this? Id love to dabble in oil but LORD the time it takes to dry alone seems like a lot.
