I can say those things and still be catholic I am wearing ashes myself and went to catholic school they told me I was lucky the nuns were not there to beat me with a ruler. I graduated owning detentions. I would never hang this on my wall. Thats how much I don't like it. I have tattoos. I have punk rock friends I read Immanuel Kant. I listen to heavy metal. There are plenty of gothic Catholic Churches. I find them quite beautiful. There is nothing evil about this. She has ash on her forehead as many people did today. The only thing that I can think of is that you don’t like her tattoos. To be honest, it is ironic how you call this wack and you loathe it and then in the same breathe say that it doesn’t show how forgiving Catholics are. Because in my religion there is nothing Gothic and it doesn't seem true. It's beautiful painting but it shocked me and I just believe the picture does not show how forgiving catholics really are.
