"Falling prices" used to be called "competitive pricing". Funny how things change.

Both of them broke on the first go. Surprisingly the compact bolt cutters broke faster.
I need an alternative.

I'd say it is a combination of things, but realize that ChatGPT came out just a few months ago. I would not be surprised if Google catches up within the year. Things are moving extremely fast. It may be that Google has something way bettr than ChatGPT in terms of capability, but they are more conservative regarding safety.
Remember it was OpenAI tech that went off the rails in the Bing chat mode.
Everyone in the industry realizes just how dangerous this stuff is. "Playing with fire" is about as much of an understatement as you could have. Google might just be playing it safe, and prioritizing safety/alignment over capabilities.

Humans are extremely aligned compared to what's theoretically possible. We just generally focus on the differences rather than the similarities, because the similarities seem so obvious that we don't even consider them.

Fear is the mind-killer. Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration. You must face your fear. Permit it to pass over you and through you. And when it has gone past you will turn the inner eye to see its path. Where the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only you will remain.

She might not actually want him, just his attention in front of you. It's a power play/fucked up ego boost. In another world she might have shit in your hat. Some people just get a kick out of fucking around others (and not just in the sexy sense)

With a 5 Million items limit, not sure how many people with normal use would be affected.

Reply to How would you fix this dryer vent mess? by axbxnx
I think you cut out a square piece of drywall around the whole hole, and then use that piece to trace the precise shape on a new piece of drywall. Cut a hole for the vent and then replace the piece you cut out with the new piece. Screw, tape and paint.
I don't do drywall tho.

You don’t really even need a degree for something like that, I got into a developer role without a relevant degree. But you could go for a computer science degree and just specialise in cybersecurity

That was just one of a long list of April fools Internet standards RFCs. Others include TCP/IP over carrier pigeon and the "evil" bit on internet packets used for nefarious purposes.
