Nonsense. It shows that our entire fabric of society sprouted and flourished in a climate that was incredibly stable and predictable. Yes climates have shifted, but not with complex human societies around. The chart also shows very clearly how the recent jump in temperature corresponds to industrial scale burning of fossil fuels.

Climates change, but if it happens fast, shocks can ruin societies. We humans made it go fast. Anyone denying the overwhelming amount of evidence just doesnt want to change his or her ways, and doesnt want to do anything to force the higher ups to change.

The encore site went back into the 1800s from what I recall. I wasn’t a big fan of a casino so I read the environmental proposal. From what I recall, a hundred years ago, after the site was done with chemicals and had them in surplus they would just steam shovel them into the ground… all the goodies you would never want buried or near water. It is worth a read.

When I was done… I just said.. yep, build a casino. That is the only business that can print money and cover the cost of dealing with that. The only other thing you could build there would be a Treasury building that prints actual money.

These are the special stripers they would catch.

No, I know that's what you mean, and it's wrong. Basically everything that guy said that's specific enough or backwards-looking (so available facts to support/refute) is factually wrong. Just one example:

>...crime... are all at all-time highs...

There's lots of different crimes, but most of them peaked in the 1980s. Here's murder:

Note: it went up a bit during COVID to 6.9, still way below what it was in the 1980s.
