Reply to comment by SkyARKy in ELI5: If benzodiazepines are CNS depressants, why is it so hard to die from a overdose of them alone? by psychrolute
To add, correct, or be pedantic:
Benzos increase the frequency or likelihood of an inhibitory chloride channel opening. Barbiturates open it.
This is why barbiturate overdoses are far more likely than benzos to result in death - unless another sedative agent is added like alcohol or narcotics. And why we can induce general anesthesia with barbiturates but rarely benzos alone.

Otherwise, tape and mud and repaint.

I think you're in a good position financially. Congratulations! But it's never a good idea to take on this kind of loan payment unemployed no matter how Bright the future is. If it's not mandatory I would not do it right now. Just my opinion. Good luck to you

I get what you're saying but I wouldn't consider it speculation to discount the value of a English and Philosophy degree as many news sources are already using AI to write articles, I'm not saying the quality of them is good but it probably will be soon enough. I think speculation is kind of necessary and even if I get it wrong my other options would have been equally worthless.
But yeah, no one knows. It's a very uncertain world.

I don't remember where I saw this, but I saw some home theater setup, and the dude made a little ticket stub box like you'd see at old-time theaters for outside his home theater, and kept all his used ticket stubs there. Partly collecting, partly decor.

Back in the day went to NO on business and host took me for "coffee". Definitely an acquired taste. Definitely needs milk to "soften" it.

> "Just to respond to that, the curriculum is required to fully inform parents," Fam immediately shot back, "so they can consent or say no, they do not want to consent to having their child receive sexual education.
Sums up the entire fiasco, conservatives want to be able to decide that their kids not learn what is basically human biology.
And the thing is, parents are entitled to be informed their kids are learning, but they don't, or shouldn't have the final say in what their kids actually learn in school. This is the entire point of mandatory education, because denial of education is abuse.
