I'm not arguing the money grab point but they typically don't leave them there all the time, they move them around and they usually either use them when there is daily active work happening or in an area where they have reduced the speed due to a narrowing of the road so it's not really safe for cars to be flying through there at any time, at least that has been my experience with them.

The hype is just that: a hype. It is not based on anything real. Also, it was a fad at best, it never was THE big thing everyone talks about.

Anyway, the explanation goes as with most hypes: a few people made up things, consciously or not, excitedly told others, and it spread. What else do you want one to say?

Please. If you are going to argue that there is no gentrification in Philadelphia, then let's just stop here. It's not just inflation when it comes to real estate. I've been here since 2006 and it doesn't even look like the same city--that's a good thing but on the other hand one can't claim all that was inflation.

Well, everybody raved about The Worst Person In The World, and so my dad ended up buying a Blu-Ray so we could watch the damn thing. It was borderline torturously boring, but that was just us. Probably gonna be the same with EEAAO. Just gonna say "Fuck it!", and just watch it. (Available for free on streaming here, so...)
