I recently set up Phillips Hue adjustable lights and it’s a game changer. I’ve got different scenes for different moods. Watching tv, dim lights with an amber or blue glow. Working or cleaning and it’s bright white. I love having adjustable lighting, plus I’ve set it up with Alexa so it’s all voice controlled… turning on and off lights from bed is bliss

Reply to My gf [F22] is unhappy with me [M24] because I asked her if she'd be comfortable with my meeting an ex who asked to catch up. My gf wasn't comfortable with it, so I said no to a meetup. Said ex is in a serious relationship & we ended amicably, and apparently the latter fact makes my gf unhappy too? by [deleted]
Well, if you are going to stay with this treat, obviously rationalizing and reason isn't working with her.
Perhaps you ought to say, "You know what, after what you shared, I realized it just isn't worth reconnecting with an old girlfriend and I am not going to".
then end the damn conversation.
If she keeps festering, you have a hella insecure bedbug there

How many firearm suicide attempts fail? This is specifically in reference to injuries.

This is a different topic but I can't help the feeling that ancient people didn't take their myths as literally as we think they did. Ever heard modern religious people say ,,oh the Bible/Quoran/Tora isn't to be taken literally, God isn't an old guy with a beard sitring on a cloud, these are all metaphores and paralels and parables that speak of an idea etc"?
What if ancient Greeks were like ,,oh the myth of Persephone isn't to be taken literally, I mean, she didn't ACTUALLY collapse beneath the crust of the earth! It simply meant, that..."

That’s true. I don’t know if it actually bothers him or not because he jokes that he “doesn’t have friends he has my friends”. But he’s more fluent in sarcasm than English so I can’t tell sometimes.

Reply to comment by ringobob in There really isn't any reason why north is always upward and south is always downward on maps. by GuinnessTheBestBoi
You realize your comments make no sense. That the prime meridian is at zero in Greenwich England is a sociological/historical fact. That north is on top makes sense based upon the geographic fact that most of the landmass of the earth is north of the equator. Therefore the names on the maps would be read (as one reads a book) from top to bottom. These latter two facts have nothing to do with the UK or anything other than geographic facts and common sense.

I love James Gray's Little Odessa & Ad Astra, so I hope Ezekiel Moss turns out better than Armageddon Time.

Reply to comment by UGA10 in Using FSA and HSA to help a family member? by [deleted]
No, this not what I want to do. In the past, when I used the card at a dental office I just swipped it, it was approved and that was it. I was using my own FSA or HSA funds and not insurance. I was interested in knowing if following up was a thing.
